What happens if I manually shut down an instance?

If you shut down an instance manually, e.g. using the AWS command line tools, the AWS console, or typing halt -p now on the console, Scalarium will Auto Heal the instance.

So any manually shut down instance will be restarted by Scalarium!

If you want to stop an instance, make sure to use Scalarium as otherwise a new instance will be started a couple of minutes later.
