VPC integration?

Is there any plan to support integration of VPC for servers managed via Scalarium? E.g. putting a group of machines belonging to one role into a VPC in order to raise security?

    Yes, we are planning to support VPC in the next month, but we are currently not able to give you an exact release date.

    I'd like to ask about VPC support again.

    I naively thought I could assign existing scalarium instances into a VPC, but as I found out, an existing instance cannot be moved into a VPC after creation.

    This makes the issue much more cruicial, because we definitely want to use VPC for our production infrastructure for obvious security reasons. We also like to use internal ELB loadbalancers for services like elastic search, and restricting access to an ELB is ONLY possible through VPC.

    So, what's the current state? We're glad to help as beta testers if required.

    We are working on VPC but due to its nature an integration with Scalarium is not trival and requires work by Amazon.

    Instances in a VPC cannot communicate with the Internet by default but this is required in order for the Scalarium agent on the instance to connect to the Scalarium backend and receive commands.

    We are talking to Amazon how a default gateway could be put in place for Scalarium customers. But as this requires changes on Amazons behalf and touches security related infrastructure, things are expected to move slowly.

    No, it is not available yet as we're working with Amazon to get recognized as a service that is whitelistet for VPC. Unfortunately this is not very simple....
